Welcome to the first in our series of local news stories, where we take a look at what long-standing client Blaze Farm is up to in the run up to this Christmas. In previous years, the Ice Cream Farm in Cheshire has been pretty busy at this time of year. In the past, they’ve had Father Christmas at the farm on set dates in December and even took bookings for Father Christmas parties held in the farm’s function room. Being so closed to Macclesfield Forest, at one time they also sold Christmas trees at the farm. In more recent years though, their main Christmas activity was hosting festive wreath making workshops at the farm. They proved such a popular event that their December courses are normally fully booked by the end of October, hence you really did need to book early to avoid disappointment!
Katy, partner at the family run ice cream farm, describes the workshops below:
Louise our workshop leader – who has 25 years experience in the trade – provides everything you need to make your masterpiece: wreath ring, wires, foliage, moss, ribbon, larch cones, holly plus of course a step by step guide. Come and get involved and make either a beautiful Festive Door Wreath or Festive Table Centrepiece.
This year is going to be a very different Christmas as we all know. Rather than have face-to-face workshops like normal, they did the next best thing, which was to make a video and create their very own DIY wreath making kits. The video went live yesterday and we have to say it’s amazing. For those new to wreath making or in need of a refresher – take a look below. They’re still taking bookings for the kits until the end of November, so contact the farm if you would like to order one.
The video and wreath kit got some great feedback:
“Hi, thanks for the fantastic video – I’m elsewhere in the world and cant get to your farm to get the kit.”

I’m sure you’ll agree this was a great way to deliver the workshop in this new normal. Fingers crossed, they can go back to having the workshops at the farm next year hopefully.
